I have gotten nowhere as I have now missed out on 4 houses and equifax is pretending I have never had credit. I am 50 I am Canadian I have had many credit cards I had a credit of 800 and now it's 0 when the lowest possible credit is 300.
It's not possible to go from 800 to 0 overnight and that is what happened. Help please reinstate my credit.
If I miss another house I will file lawsuit. So please fix asap
I am escalating it to consumer services with the federal government
the customer service agent said that is normaL IF U DONT HAVE A CREDIT CARD. THEY JUST ERASE UR CREDIT TO ZERO

Fraud alert
Identity theft and fraud from an online Facebook marketplace sale. I was sent an e-transfer resulting in them receiving access to my online banking. CIBC Fraud alert intervened and alerted me to what had happened.

Title: Equifax Canada is Ignoring My Fraud Case and Actively Failing to Protect My Credit File
Equifax has been stonewalling me for over a year now. Ive made multiple reports about fraudulent activity on my credit fileactivity that happened while I was incarceratedand theyve done nothing. Every time I contact them, I either get ignored, hung up on, or looped into the same useless email that says, we cant find the account or the info doesnt match. Im literally logged into my own credit report when I submit the requesthow the *** does the info not match?
Theres a credit card on my file that was used by someone else while I was locked up, and Equifax has refused to investigate. On top of that, theyve allowed unauthorized phone numbers and account changes to be added, which I never approved. Thats on them. Theyre supposed to protect my datanot help wreck it.
I even told them to use GPT-4 if they couldnt keep up with the facts. Im not stupid. Ive done my part, filed fraud reports, submitted disputes, and made real efforts to clean up my file. But Equifax refuses to treat this like a real issue. And theres nowhere to complaintheyve built a wall around themselves and made it nearly impossible to get a human response.
If they dont want to fix this, Ill take it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. I know my rights under Canadian law, and I wont be quiet about this.
Equifax, do your job.

Preferred solution: Just do there job and deal with my disputes. Not asking for special treatment or pity. But there's mistakes and there's choices. This was a choice to treat me as if dignity has nothing to do with it.

Very poor service
When you sign up: easy, no hassle, online submission and payment.
When you want to cancel: search through the website for a toll free number. Call during their east coast hours.
Talk to a call centre employee with a thick accent (he was good). Give a call center employee your SIN, phone number, address, postal code, mothers maiden name, credit card details.
I consider this abusive and this is what I thought equifax protected against. Since this phone call I went from a scam call once a week to four a day.

He was very well spoken English and I could understand for once
My wallet was stolen with all my sin number and my identity and all my credit cards everything so I wanted to report it so that if somebody does try to take something out of my name, it will be flagged then I can deal with it right away. Im hoping they just tried to use my stuff like my credit cards and my debit card and not and I got them all closed down right away, but its hard to do the identity. It takes days to deal with this.

There is too much incorrect information in my account. The last time, they removed one strange phone number from my account, now another new phone number has been added.
I'm so disappointed with the way they're handling my problem.
They leak customer information, yet it takes customers days and hours to fix their errors. The worst part is that banks evaluate their customers using the Equifax system.

Tried to access my account and I'm locked out. Called them and got a noisy call center.
Finally get enough answers right to convince them who I am. She says because I don't use it much the locked me out. I pay $29 monthly for this account. I'm then told it would take weeks to fix it.
And on comes the sales pitch to lock my money up so I can't cancel right away. One I'm done with Equifax I'm going to cancel and look at the competition.
This company is just full unprofessional employees with all our sensitive data. Shameful!

I still waiting to hear from equifax. I have called left my number.
I have sent at least 3 emails explaining the situation but Equifax has still not looked into the matter and is still not contacting me either to try to help resolve my issue. It is so frustrating.
Called was not able to speak with anyone left my telephone number no one called me back that was 2 days ago. Also sent email 2,days ago did get a reference number that they would look into it but still haven’t heard back. Very frustrating and scared as to what happened with the alert I received from equifax.

Inaccurate address and account updates
Took many tries and disputes to correct wrong info such as address and phone, as well as fraudulent accounts in my name... then 3 weeks after, they reverted to the incorrect address and phone - all those corrections in last 3 weeks got wiped out by 1-month-old update for no reasons. Oct 1 old and wrong info magically reappeared as my current and latest address and phone

Infuriating cancellation
Try to cancel with this company. You can't do it online.
You have to call them. Then you got to spend 30 minutes with a person who barely speaks English, asking you 1001 questions which I'm very surprised didn't include my height, and year I lost my virginity.
It's almost like they purposely make it as difficult as possible so a person literally loses their mind with frustration halfway through the phone call, hangs up and is stuck with them months after month.
Absolutely pathetic.
I'm so happy I left, and I will never join again.

You cannot cancel your subscription online. It is really hard to cancel the service calling to customer service.

They won’t see you complaint. And go find a professional to advise on this matter. You have many facts that are not accurate about how things work.
Your biggest mistake is thinking you are so smart and that others need to catch up. I don’t need to state the obvious why that isn’t true.
